This represents the sum total of all space available for your web files, email and databases.

This is a separate factor from the number of visitors you have, and is not affected by web traffic.

Data Transfer represents the amount of data, per month, that you can move to and from our servers.

For example, if you have a 1 megabyte file in your hosting space, and 100 people download that file per month, then 100 megabytes of your monthly transfer are used.

Domain names are human-friendly identifiers that point to the IP addresses of resources on the internet. Web sites represent one such resource. Domain names have to be unique, and must be registered through a registrar in order to be used.

In the case of unlimited domain hosting, you can host unlimited independent web sites, each with its own unique domain name, and associated features, on one single hosting account. You can now have as many domains with iHostBig plans as you like.

IP addresses are unique identifiers that allow your website to be found on the internet. Many hosting companies will assign multiple domains to a single IP, sharing it amongst them.

iHostBig provides 10 dedicated IP addresses per account. This is necessary for SSL certificates as well as a variety of other functions, and does not subject you to problems with other sites sharing the same IP address as you.

iHostBig provides you with a number of free domain points, which enable you to register domain names at no additional cost!

iHostBig offers unlimited databases and database space

MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL 2005 and/or Access (windows plans only), ODBC/DSN (windows plans only), phpMyAdmin, and phpPgAdmin are all included database structures.

Email accounts are virtual mailboxes which reside on our mail servers, and receive and store email sent to them from the internet.

Each email account is given its own unique address and login credentials.

Sub domains are third level domains. For example, if you have domain.com, and you want to setup a special site just for your sales department, you could do so by adding a sub domain of sales.domain.com.

These are independent sites with independent file and folder structures. You may assign as many sub domains to your hosting account as you need.

SSL stands for Secured Socket Layer, and is a technique for encrypting traffic between a client's computer and a web server.

A shared SSL certificate is a certificate which is registered under one domain name, in our case iHostBig.com, and with which our customers can secure their site, but would do so using their domain as a 3rd level domain under ours, iHostBig.com.

Therefore, if your domain name was XYZ.com, and you wanted to use our shared certificate to secure the site, the secure URL would be https://xyz.iHostBig.com

This shared certificate is provided by us for free on all accounts.
